How Far in Advance to Order Wedding Stationery in NZ

This is the question I get asked most, usually before anything else. Here is what our production calendar actually allows for, worked back from your wedding date.

‍ ‍

Cardstock stationery

‍ ‍

Invitations, details cards, RSVP cards, menu cards and place cards all run on the same calendar. Your order form and balance are due, and design begins, around five weeks before your wedding. Final approval is due four weeks out, which leaves four clear weeks for printing and finishing.

‍ ‍

Rigid signage

‍ ‍

Welcome signs, seating charts, bar signs, table numbers and wishing well signs, printed on foam board or Signex, follow the same timeline as cardstock stationery. Order and design start at wedding minus five weeks, approval at wedding minus four weeks.

‍ ‍

Fabric signage

‍ ‍

Fabric signage needs a longer runway because of how it is made. Design start sits around nine weeks before your wedding, with final approval due seven weeks out. That gives five weeks for production, then two weeks for dispatch and delivery ahead of the day.

‍ ‍

Once you are in

‍ ‍

Once your invoice is paid in full and your order form is back with us, your proof gallery is with you within seven days. You then have two days to send through any changes, so it is worth having your wording, guest list and any reference images settled before that gallery lands.

‍ ‍

The short version

‍ ‍

These are the latest workable dates, not the ideal ones. Reaching out earlier gives you more room either way, particularly if you are still deciding between fabric and rigid signage, or between collections. If you would like to talk through timing for your own date, our enquiry page is the place to start.
