Wedding Stationery NZ: A Couple's Guide to What You Need
If you are only just starting to plan your wedding stationery, it can feel like there is a whole language to learn before you have even ordered a single card. I put this guide together to make that first step a little simpler.
What wedding stationery actually covers
"Stationery" covers more pieces than most couples expect going in. Before the day, you are generally looking at:
Invitations
Details Cards
RSVP Cards
Closer to the day, and on it, there is usually:
Menu Cards
Place Cards, in either a flat or tent-style fold
Alongside your paper suite, most couples also order signage for the day itself, welcome signs, seating charts, bar signs, table numbers and wishing well signs. I have written a separate guide comparing fabric and rigid signage if that is where you are up to.
Choosing a collection
Every piece we design starts from one of our collections, each with its own personality, and each fully semi-custom to your wedding rather than a generic template.

When to start
For cardstock stationery, our production calendar works backwards from your wedding date. Design begins around five weeks before the day, and final approval is due four weeks out, leaving four clear weeks for printing and finishing.
Once your invoice is paid in full and your order form is back with us, your proof gallery is with you within seven days. From there, you have two days to send through any changes, so it is worth having your wording and guest details settled before that gallery lands.
